As Lenny says;
"I saw an advert for a Eddystone radio 1934 2 valve for $100
in a local Trading magazine. This naturally aroused my curiosity as
early Eddystones are fairly scarce in Hawkes Bay. I contacted the seller,
who lived in Pahiatua, told him I would buy the radio practically sight
unseen. Three weeks later, he duly arrived in the Bay, we arranged a
meet at the local B.P. station in Clive at 7.p.m. When he opened the door
to his van and I saw the radio I thought "bloody hell!", handed him over
a crisp $100 note and the rest is history. Regards, Lenny."
